How can wellness and holistic coaches simplify client programs? A breathwork coach’s solution

I'm a Breathwork Coach. And I built an app because I had to.

While studying for my certification at the School of Breath Science with Martin McPhilimey, following training with Oxygen Advantage, earning a trauma-informed coaching certificate, and completing programs during my own healing, I noticed something: the client experience felt fragmented, and I wanted to create something that could bring it all together.

So I started working with clients, sharing programs through email, YouTube, Google Drive, and spreadsheets.

But my clients were already overwhelmed. One had a stressful job with constant changes. Another was recovering from a serious injury (that was Ann, my co-founder). Another was healing from a deeply traumatic experience, much like my own (I share my story in this podcast, here).

When people are overwhelmed, the last thing they need is more complexity.

Even though I kept my system simple, it became difficult to navigate as the eight-week program layers expanded. My clients accessed my services through multiple touchpoints, and feedback was that it felt too rigid. Meanwhile, I was piecing together so many systems that I was losing clarity in delivering my services.

There had to be a simpler way.

Reflecting on my experience as a client in six-month-plus programs, I knew what people actually wanted: a simple list of tasks, the freedom to choose what works, and a place to connect with others for support—not just from the coach, but from people on a similar path.

So I began building an app to support Ann and my other clients on their wellness journeys.

Then I thought: why not share this with other coaches too?

That's how Plaece was born.

If you're a holistic or wellness coach, practitioner, or facilitator, you already know how hard it is.

You're wearing all the hats: business development, administration, customer service, marketing, prospecting, social media, and choosing platforms to support your growth.

You probably don't want to learn to build an app or platform or how to vibe code, especially given the uncertainty around security, cost, and long-term maintenance.

And there's always something else to manage.

Ann and I know this intimately. People say becoming an entrepreneur is both challenging and life-changing—we couldn't agree more.

That's why many of us go into this work—to share what we've found to be profoundly beneficial in our own healing or transformation.

Our vision is to help reconnect people with their wellbeing by creating technology that enables coaches, practitioners, facilitators, and healers to make a greater impact.

But the reality is that many small businesses don't survive their first few years. I imagine the number is even higher in the holistic and wellness field.

Many of us begin this work through our own healing journeys and want to share what we've learned. But when we're busy finding clients, learning to market ourselves (I'm still getting used to social media), and handling daily business tasks, building a platform or app feels like something for the future–or financially unattainable (custom apps can start from $50k in Australia).

Platforms are usually framed as something you build once you're established.

We built Plaece for the stage most practitioners are at, whether you're early, mid, or mature.

What if a platform and app could save you time and reduce costs by consolidating your tools? And what if you didn't need all your content ready before launching?

You don't need to create the next Wim Hof or Calm app. You just need something that helps your clients navigate your latest challenge, course, or program with ease—where they can connect with community members and engage with you directly, all in one place, with gentle notifications, email reminders, and progress tracking.

For you, it's a platform to manage clients, set up one-on-one or group content, update your app, and stay in touch with your users.

If I were still working as a breathwork coach, here's exactly how I'd use it:

My main call to action—link in bio to turn social media followers into app users. Challenges and toolbox content that’s free to lower the barrier to experiencing my work. Daily, weekly, and monthly paid programs for clients. Evergreen courses and multi-week programs to test what resonates. And a community, because shared space was one of the most powerful healing elements of my own journey.

While Plaece began with breathwork, it's designed for anyone running programs, challenges, building communities, or ongoing journeys in the holistic and wellness space.

Here's what makes us different.

Plaece is designed for both you, the coach or practitioner, and your clients. You're not an afterthought.

We explored all kinds of platforms, app builders, and coding tools before building Plaece. We listen closely to feedback from our founding members and use it to improve the experience for everyone.

And you work directly with us—Ann and me.

If that resonates and you'd like to explore whether Plaece could support your work, let's schedule a time to chat.
